Create Outpost in the Shopify Dev Dashboard, install it on this store, then connect. Live stores use OAuth. Dev Dashboard stores can use Client ID and Client secret. Outpost locks Consignment Pool.

Connection: Dev Dashboard app. Client credentials work only for Dev stores in the same organization. A live store uses Install on store (OAuth). Outpost talks to Shopify directly — no inventory middleware.

Shopify no longer issues Admin API tokens from the store. Create an app in the Dev Dashboard, install it on this store, then paste the Client ID and Client secret. Outpost requests a 24-hour token and binds Consignment Pool.

In Shopify Admin create a location named Consignment Pool. Leave physical storefront and fulfill online orders off.
Open dev.shopify.com, create an app named Outpost, and choose Create app manually. Do not use Shopify CLI — that scaffolds a new embedded app. Outpost already exists.
Release a version. Leave the app not embedded. App URL https://shopify.dev/apps/default-app-home— that is correct for Outpost until Railway is live. Do not use 127.0.0.1 as the App URL. Webhooks API 2026-10. Scopes read_products,read_inventory,write_inventory,read_locations,read_orders,write_orders,read_draft_orders,write_draft_orders,read_customers,write_customers. Allowed redirection URLs (add every line, no trailing slash): https://bunnasia.corebytetechnology.com/api/shopify/auth/callbackhttp://127.0.0.1:43147/api/shopify/auth/callback
Click Install app and install on bunnasia.myshopify.com. The store and the app must be in the same Dev Dashboard organization.
Copy Client ID and Client secret from App settings into the form below.

Connecting with Client ID and secret does not use redirects. Redirects are only for Install on store (OAuth). They must match exactly, with no trailing slash.

Legacy admin-created app token

Shopify stopped creating these on 1 Jan 2026. Use this only if you already have an old Admin API token.

Catalog

Import from Shopify on Catalog. Auto-import adds in-stock variants that are not in the ledger yet, including products that come back into stock. Turn it off if you only want products you pick yourself.

Without keys, receive / allocate / sales invoice still run against the ledger and write a mock Shopify log. A sales invoice is an orders#create with inventory pulled from the pooled location.
